“the bender” reflects on the relationship between the formation and transformation of the earth and humanity, portraying both internal and external experiences and the effects of human intervention in nature.

Inspired by Alper Aydın’s installation “Bend” the piece depicts an encounter in an alternative reality. As the artist feels the texture of the earth, he explores the complexity of his relationship with it. The integration of the body with the soil expresses a silent dialogue. This interaction reminds all who witness it of the power and timelessness of nature, urging them to contemplate both its past and future.

The performance, as Alper Aydın describes it, “…offers an apology to the shapes of the earth that have been damaged by human hands, through the playground and experience it creates by imitating the shapes of the earth…”
